Great showing at the The Filling Station! Couple New faces too! Special thanks to Andy, Todd, and everyone else at The Filling Station for hosting us this month. We covered a lot of upcoming events, and this summer is going to be a great one!
Tentatively, we have scheduled an additional event this month, and you are not going to want to miss it! Sunday, April 24th, Noon, The Filling Station and Northern Michigan Homebrewers Guild will be hosting an off flavor tasting event. This is a Member Only event! So if you haven’t renewed your membership this year, you can do it right here, or at the event. We are equipped to take debit and credit card now.
We also discussed hosting the Summer Microbrew and Music Festival Homebrew Challenge this year. Stay Tuned for that!
Those of you who haven’t signed up for the Shorts Production Facility tour, please do so online. Limited to 15 people, So get signed up now. This is a members only event.
Big Brew Day is coming up in a month! We will contact you with more information. We invite anyone who has brewed to bring out your system and brew with us! We will be brewing on May 7th at Brewery Terra Firma beginning at 10am. It’s a fun place to brew, and we encourage everyone to make it out!

We unveiled the new NMHG banner. It looks great, and we posed for some photos.
Chuck said the membership cards are in the mail. The club’s fund balance is very low, and he paid for the cards and will reimburse himself when we get more of the banner money coming in.
May 7 is Big Brew Day. We’re tentatively set for May 7 at Terra Firma. Craig said the new club glasses should be in by then.
Right Brain vetoed us being part of Mud, Sweat and Beers.
Chuck said to check your spam/junk folders for emails from the group. He’s sent some out and less than 50% have been read.
We’ll have an off-flavor tasting event April 24 at the Filling Station in the afternoon (see calendar for more info).
Next meeting in tentatively set for May 23 at Workshop.
The Short’s tour is June 4. You must sign up in advance for this.
We’re looking to have a “fill the barrel day” sometime in the summer to put another big batch of brew in the club oak barrel to age. Before we can do this, we have to find homes for the barley wine that’s currently in there.
